energy...

changing energy from one form....to another....changing fear and doubt...into love and peace...and understanding...that is the key.

this....I partly agree....I think that once you dream something...you...you yourself can change that dream into a reality...however, it really picks up steam when others are on board.

sky is the limit.....energy can change...dreams can come true....and all have the power...  :) it isn't a mystery, unattainable....


ok...ok....what I was really going to write today was about paint...and paper....and brushes....

Today...I'm taking more time to paint instead of the super quick sketches I've been doing.

1.  brushes...I buy cheap cheap brushes....my favorites are crayola kid brushes....I've spent a ton of money on brushes in the past...why?   totally not worth it...brushes get used...and abused....and watercolor brushes...they don't go through the abuse that acrylic and oil brushes go through....so, hey- the cheaper the better....my favorite brushes are flat ones....and then after that...super fine round ones....I'll occasionally use a large round for a wash...but....they have to be cheap....or rather...inexpensive.  :)  whatever.

2.  paint...for acrylic, I think it's important to get good quality paint.  The pigment and the vehicle carrying it...you don't want crappy, chunky...or....just...poor quality acrylic...or oil for that matter...it's important.  I'll give you that one.... you want the paint to last for years on the canvas...you want your work preserved....but for watercolors...I'm not hugely picky.  I have decent watercolors...in tubes...and I have some that isn't as....ummmm.   reputable....but, I can't see any difference....it's wet...it dries...it stains the paper...just the same as the super expensive stuff.  I think if you are hooked on a certain pigment...a certain color really turns your crank...then...get it....it's probably going to be the crucial go-to color that you love...and if you love it....then you should have what makes you happy, by gum.....eat the ice cream...instead of the frozen yogurt.  :)  I will always need naples yellow...even pale orange...and prussian blue....

3.  the paper....the paper, is the most important thing to me.  It is my partner...and if my partner let's me down....he's fired.  I need a solid co-conspirator....one who knows me better than I know myself...who can stand with me and create together...seamless...and that's just....all.  So, yeah...I go for the gold....when I want to really go for it.  I get a paper...that gets me...and one thing I really like...is rough texture...
