Gratitude

let's see....

How did I get here...and by here...I mean this place of gratitude.   Today I want to talk of the little things...the simple things that I am grateful for.  Sometimes we have to look around and appreciate stuff that gets overlooked.  I could, no doubt make a huge list of all the things I am grateful for: my family, friends, sunshine, sacrifices made for a better life- oh...man.  The list is huge.
I don't deny all the huge things I am grateful for... not at all.

But hey....  I'm gonna give some high fives to some every day things I'm grateful for....this is my blog...so, I get to do whatever I want.  :)  no judgements here.

First up.....

This lovely smiling siren...who calls to me....with creamy whole milk goodness.

with her sweaty cold cup... so refreshing...intoxicating and full of caffeine.  delicious.

...........and........next up.

This duo.   I love these two.

Naples Yellow and Prussian Blue....of all the colors in my watercolor set - they are my favorite (well, maybe Viridian too).  ahhh....Naples Yellow....more specifically- this Naples Yellow from this cheap but oh-so awesome Pentel watercolor set (my first ever watercolor set given to me by my Dad).   It is the perfect pale and warm yellow...great for highlights and accents.  And....this Prussian Blue...so dark and deep and perfect for achieving the closest thing to black that I will allow on my paintings.
These two...complete me.  :)

In this place of gratitude...I am also grateful for and appreciate curvy things.  Like this:

I mean...Look at this bottle!    What a celebration of curvy!    :)   I love it.  Because....hey....curvy is pretty awesome....which brings me to being grateful for curves and me.  :)  I'm curvy...and I'm embracing it.

                                                                          Hi.  Me.

Which now brings me to painting....and these green bottles.  The other day, I walked by our table outside and saw my green bottles sparkling in the sun.  What really caught my eye was that the shadow of the bottle held the sparkling reflection of beautiful green...and looked just like a watercolor...and so....it had to be captured....it makes me happy and sunshiny...that I got to see it and spend time appreciating it.  I'm grateful for painting and loving and shining.  I love these bottles.

The photo:

amazing. beautiful.  just awesome.

I am grateful for the time I have had to be able to paint lately.  Painting brings me to a happy place....and happiness is pretty damn important.  :)

This is a work in progress.....so many layers....I'm just excited to enjoy the journey of it....I'm not sure what it will look like...but it has been bliss just getting there- just delighting in the getting there...and loving every minute- not knowing exactly where it is going...but just going with it.  (hmmmm- my philosophy on watercolor and life)

so.....gratitude....

Sometimes you have to look around and smile and just be grateful for the little things....a coffee, some paint, music, a smile, some love.... and there it is....happiness...along with bliss...and peace....

                                                                       perfection.
